Description: "Creating Value from Precision Ag" is the cutting edge topic for the Fall Field Day Scheduled for September 9 at the Armstrong Research Farm, Lewis IA It is sponsored by the Wallace Foundation for Rural Research and Development, Iowa State University Extension, ISU Outlying Research Farms, and Iowa Western Community College. An open discussion time about “Creating Clean Useable Data” and “Data Management Opportunities” is included in the day's event. There will also be classroom presentations on “Case Studies of Precision Ag Equipment Costs and Economic Returns.” Exhibitors will include area equipment dealers, seed companies and other ag suppliers. Field demonstrations showing strip-till planting on the contour, auto shut-off planting, auto-steer tractors, and RTK Guidance Systems will be featured. The Armstrong Research Farm is located 1/2 mile south of Highway 6 at 525th Street and 3/4 mile east at Hitchcock Avenue; or, 5 1/2 miles north of Griswold on Highway 48, turn west at Newton Road and continue for 3 miles.
