Bicycle Rodeo

The bicycles were inspected to make sure that all bikes were in safe, proper riding condition.  The children also learned about bicycle safety, skills, and laws.  Over 100 children came to the Bicycle Rodeo.  The children's bicycles were registered with the Atlantic Police Department and will be kept on record for future reference if needed.  The Reserve Officers were assisted by KS95, the Boy Scouts, and Atlantic members of the RAGBRAI RIDE RIGHT organization.

Safety Pup

Safety Pup (operated by the Reserves) assisted Officer Becker with Halloween Safety talks to the Trick or treaters of the community

Reserve Campout

The Reserve Campout was held at cold Spring State Park in Lewis, Iowa.  Our campers consisted of Reserve Officers and their families, along with ten children from our community.  A weekend of fishing, a demonstration from the DNR, and the famous SNIPE HUNT!

Officers spent time with the children teaching them about outdoors, fishing, skipping rocks, eating and preparing food out of doors and  how to do it all safely.

Christmas Toy Drive

In the spirit of giving the Atlantic Police Reserves joined with KS95 / KSOM, are trying to make sure that children through out the county have something to open on Christmas morning.  Also known as Toys for Tots program

A huge success not only collects toys but warm coats, hats, mittens, and gloves for children.
