The Atlantic Police Department’s in house computer system consists of a server with a mirrored hard drive and tape back up, with four desk top P. C. ’s that are net worked to each other. This net working has a radio data link to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office, where our records are stored in a shared county-wide database, which is on the Sheriff’s AS400 mainframe computer. The shared database gives us access to not only our own records but to those of all law enforcement in Cass County. The records which include calls for service, incidents, arrests, jail, gun permits, warrants etc. are available to our officers at all times through this system.

Our in house computer system also does digital camera processing with color prints, and picture authentication soft ware, as well as a C. D. writer for picture storage.

  5. This is a laptop computer and is used by officers to issue traffic citations to violators and for entering the data of drivers/owners involved in motor vehicle accidents.
