Three Part Series Starts Thursday February 13

Looking for some mealtime inspiration to get your year started off right? Cass County Extension is excited to offer a new educational series for home cooks in February 2020. If you’re looking for ideas on how to eat healthy and make the most of the time you spend in the kitchen, the Healthy and Homemade workshop series is for you!  Join Barb Fuller, ISU Extension and Outreach Human Sciences Specialist in Nutrition and Wellness for a three-part series on Thursdays, February 13, 20, and 27 from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm each night in Atlantic, at the Cass County Community Center.

In the first session, Cook Now, Enjoy Later, you’ll learn how planning can reduce stress and save money while still resulting in delicious, nutritious home-cooked meals. The second session, Veg Out, will explore the many benefits of vegetables, and you’ll get to sample recipe ideas and learn how to increase fruit and veggies in your diet. In the final session, Slow Cooker Meals, discover the benefits and versatility of the slow cooker, learn food safety tips and leave with great meal ideas! All participants will receive kitchen supplies, recipes and food samples at each program.

Cost for the series is $15 for all three classes, and registration is limited to the first 25 people. Registration deadline is Monday, February 10.
