Summer is just a little sweeter this year for 12 Atlantic-area families. Thanks to an anonymous donor, 12 families received free season pool passes to Sunnyside Pool (a $1440 value). Families receiving the free passes have expressed gratitude and shared they’ve been having fun at the pool.
People who helped facilitate this gift included staff of the Atlantic Parks and Recreation Department, Atlantic City Hall, and Washington Elementary School, in addition to others.
“This gift aligns with the belief that everyone deserves equitable access to recreational opportunities—a value held by the local, state, and national parks and recreation departments. Parks and recreation departments should offer as many low-cost or no-cost opportunities as possible. We would love to partner with other individuals and organizations interested in sponsoring similar opportunities,” stated Bryant Rasmussen, Atlantic Parks & Recreation Director stated.
That’s what the anonymous donor likes to hear. She hopes that hearing about the gift will “encourage others to do something good, too.”
