Chamber Committees

Chamber Committees

Chamber Committees are what help organize and grow the Chamber. Committee members plan, negotiate and brain storm new ideas while maintaining traditions found throughout Atlantic.

The following are the current committees of the Atlantic Area Chamber of Commerce.

Standing Committees

Image Builders

This committee was formed to improve the image of our community and promote pride through marketing, projects and recognition programs. The committee discusses citywide issues, keeps up to date with local issues and presents community improvement awards.

Alive After 5

Hosted by Chamber Members who have new products to showcase, made improvements, hired new staff members, have seasonal wares or just want a chance to get to know the community better! This event occurs once a month, after hours (5-7) and gives Chamber Members a chance to mingle and relax while enjoying food and beverages.

Ambassadors

A group of Chamber Members welcomes new businesses or staff to the community, celebrates business anniversaries, tours expansion projects and new facilities. The group also handles ribbon cuttings and attends grand openings, open houses, etc. The cost is $25 per Ambassador per year to cover the year’s refreshments.

Lunch & Learns

These are once a quarter professional development opportunities for local businesses to help train and grow themselves and their employees. Lunch & Learns can also provide valuable knowledge about changing laws, new industry standards or simply how to help boost sales and performance in your market area.

Silver Cord Program

This is a newer partnership between the Atlantic Area Chamber of Commerce and the Atlantic High School. The Silver Cord Program encourages high school students to volunteer within their community through local organizations. Students who complete the Silver Cord Program (200 volunteer hours) will graduate with a silver cord along with their cap and gown. Students who complete the program and a reflection paper are eligible for a scholarship from the Atlantic Area Chamber of Commerce.

Atlantic Rising (Young Professionals)

Atlantic Rising’s mission is to engage and attract young leaders into our community, while promoting Atlantic and the surrounding area. Atlantic Rising is open to men and women, between ages 21-45, who are employed in the Atlantic Area. Atlantic Rising has social activities throughout the year for networking, as well as community service projects to help grow and develop Atlantic. The Annual Dessert Gala includes awards for local young professionals who have displayed excellence within the community and their professions.  Atlantic Rising offers activities that are easy to squeeze into your busy calendar.  Check out our Facebook page for more details.
